Company Name: Doko Recyclers Pvt. Ltd.
Job Title: Senior Communications Associate
Job Category:
No. Of Vacancies: 1
Job Location: Bhanimandal, Lalitpur
Salary: Based on Experience
Who are we?
Doko Recyclers is on a mission to build a cleaner, more circular Nepal — one that treats waste as a resource, not an afterthought. From e-waste and plastics to municipal and corporate recycling programs, our work touches everyday lives across Kathmandu and Pokhara. We’re looking for a storyteller who can help more people see, understand, and get behind that work.
Role Summary
We are looking for someone who can turn Doko’s day-to-day impact into stories people actually want to read, watch, and share. You will shape how Doko shows up on our website, in people’s inboxes, across social media, at events, and in the press. You will work closely with our teams on the ground to make sure that our content is grounded in the real work happening every day.
This role is for someone who cares about sustainability communication and wants their writing and creative instincts to help grow awareness of Doko’s work.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Shaping the bigger picture:
- Build Doko’s annual communications strategy and turn it into practical monthly and quarterly plans, always tied back to what the organization is actually trying to achieve. Ensure Doko’s impact doesn’t stay hidden: you’ll find the stories worth telling and get them in front of the right people.
- Keeping our digital presence alive:
- Own our website- keeping project pages, impact numbers, blogs, and reports fresh, and working with developers to keep improving it.
- Write newsletters people actually open, featuring our wins, our partnerships, and the people behind the work.
- Lead our social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube — with a particular focus on making LinkedIn our strongest, most credible voice.
- Protecting and building the brand:
- Be the keeper of Doko’s brand guidelines, making sure everything we put out, from a partner presentation to a social media post, feels consistent and recognizably us.
- Build templates that make it easy for other teams to stay on-brand without needing to ask you every time.
- Bringing events to life:
- Lead the planning, branding, media coordination, and vendor logistics of events, from our flagship World Environment Day event to project launches, CSR activations, conferences, and press events. Make these moments land, then capture and report on them afterward.
- Running campaigns that matter:
- Design and run communication campaigns across our different focus areas, including e-waste, plastic waste, corporate recycling, municipal partnerships, circular economy initiatives, and CSR programs, keeping both our Kathmandu and Pokhara operations in view.
- Writing the story of Doko:
- Articles, blogs, press releases, case studies, annual reports, impact reports, corporate decks — you’ll be behind much of the written material that represents Doko to the outside world.
- Supporting the business development team:
- Help our team win new CSR partnerships by creating the materials that make our case, including brochures, case studies, client presentations, and communication content for proposals.
- Building our media presence:
- Build relationships with journalists and media houses, coordinate interviews, write press releases, and monitor how Doko is being talked about, working to grow the coverage that reflects the work we’re proud of.
- Making sense of the numbers:
- Track how our communications are actually performing, including website traffic, social engagement, newsletter opens, campaign reach, and media coverage, and turn that into a monthly report that helps us get better.
Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, branding, or digital marketing
- Strong writing and editing skills — you can adapt your voice for a press release, a LinkedIn post, or an annual report
- Experience managing a website (WordPress experience is a plus)
- A solid grasp of LinkedIn marketing and digital communications more broadly
- Experience planning and running corporate events
- Comfort with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- A plus, not a requirement: experience working with NGOs, sustainability initiatives, CSR programs, or environmental organizations
Who are we looking for?
- Strong strategic thinker with warm writing skills
- Able to manage multiple projects at once while keeping each one creative and effective
- Comfortable working with stakeholders, handling event logistics, and evaluating whether communications are effectively representing Doko
- Genuinely interested in and committed to the work Doko does
